Dear Cathy,

I had been away from your class for over a year. Your enthusiasm and desire to help everyone is inspiring. The first day I came back, I could hardly do the exercises because of sciatica pain. Little by little it started to improve. What a surprise this last Friday when I realized the pain was gone and I could do everything with gusto!

I have arthritis in my hands pretty bad and Kathy shows you how to use the water to make the symptoms much better and my experience has been terrific.  I love the way she shows you how to proceed at your own pace and just enjoy the class. Love it and totally recommend the class to anyone.

I would like to express myself concerning the help I have received for my physical well being and all around improvement of my body. The aqua fit water aerobic exercises were something I thought I never could accomplish.  Before I came to the Forsyth Cumming YWCA I had gone through a period of steriod injections in my spine and cortizone shots in my right knee.  I suffer from a fushion of the disk in my lower back and a torn cartlige in my left knee. In addition I was twenty pounds over weight and when I wake up every morning I was in pain until I worked out on the elliptical nordictrack bycicle which gave me some relief for a short period of time.  I have always had a fear of water. I joined the aqua fit water aerobics class under the guidance and instructions by Kathy Lane at the YMCA. Kathy helped me gain confidence day by day and I have no more fear of the water and I have lost 20 pounds in nine months.  I grow stronger and stronger each day and the program has already helped relieve the long standing pain which no one really learns to live with.  Each aqua fit water aerobic class has now become a day to look forward to rather than another day of drugery.

Hi Kathy!

I just want to thank you for your wonderful water aerobic class. After having major back surgery along with Fibromyalgia, I tried physical therapy and the machines and weights at the YMCA. Both methods were supposed to relieve my severe back pain, buy they only made it worse.

FINALLY, I was introduced to the healing, forgiving, and therapeutic water classes at the YMCA. I started out very slowly in the arthritis classes for about a year and have slowly worked my way up to your class. I truly believe that if it were not for yours, Ann Stewart, and Kathy Brink's water classes I would be in a wheelchair today. YOUR class is especially good because I don't have to go back to the arthritis class if I'm having a difficult day. I just do what I'm able to do in your class at my speed. I love it. Your up beat, happy spirit everyday is so infectious it also has a healing effect on my low days.

Dear Kathy,
Since I am now retired ,It is not everyday some one asks me to say something nice about a product or an experience.  I am honored   to inform your internet readers that your water aerobics classes have definitely helped my golf game.  My wife (June) and I have now been attending your classes for 3 months.  What the classes specifically have given me is increased strength and flexibilty and better balance in hitting my golf shots.  I am consistently breaking 90 and have lost 5 lbs. WHAT MORE CAN I ASK FOR !

The Crimson Belles Chapter of the Red Hat Society recently enjoyed a water aerobics class at the YMCA at Vickery Creek Village.  Instructor Kathy Lane led the group in an hour of exercise, fun and frolic in the water.  After participating in such interesting activities as “the frog”, “the washing machine” and “the butterfly” the group left the pool feeling relaxed and invigorated and adjourned to enjoy lunch together.  The Red Hat Society is a social organization for women over fifty who get together to search for their inner-child, have fun and enjoy one another’s company.  It’s easy to spot these ladies in their purple attire and red hats.  When you see them give them a friendly wave and share their contagious happy spirit!

Hi Kathy,
Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the class yesterday! I have been on vacation for 2 weeks and I couldn't wait to get back in the water for our aerobics. Can you imagine being in a beautiful all inclusive resort in Cancun, thinking about my aerobics classs? This is the best thing I have ever done for myself. I want to tell everyone I know about our class but we would probably have to find a larger pool! I want all my friends to try it one time. Just one visit and they will be believers just like me. My daughter belongs to the Y and has wanted me to do this for years but the shy side of me held me back. Being a senior, I had a hip replacement 4 months ago and was told I had R/A.  I knew it was time to step out of my box and take charge of my health. My range of motion, flexibility, and strength is so improved that my physician released me this week and said he doesn't need to see me for a year! This is after attending your class for just 2 months. He was amazed at my progress. The bonus is the friends I have made with the ladies in the class that are just like me. It is so much fun! Thanks again for your part in getting me healthy and teaching me that the water is very forgiving which allows me to exercise in a way that I couldn't in a "gym" setting. You are amazing and give me strength in more ways than one!

I started taking Kate's Water Aerobic Class 1 1/2 years ago.  I was playing golf and was only hitting the ball 1/2
of the distance of my girlfriends.  After about 2 weeks of Water Aerobic classes I started hitting the golf ball further and further.  As of today I hit the ball alot further than my girlfriends and it has improved my game by 2 to 3 strokes of each hole.  I truly believe that it is because of Kathy's class.It has made my arms and legs so much stronger.

Kathy's enthusiasm for exercise and life are contagious.  Her aqua aerobic workouts are a perfect complement to more physically demanding forms of exercise. The water is truly forgiving; allowing for less stress on our often overtaxed bodies while achieving great benefits of cardio activity, toning and increased flexibility. Her routines are physically energizing and her persona is mentally uplifting.

Kathy is one of the most energetic people I know and that energy makes her aqua classes so enjoyable.  She is knowledgeable and very concerned about her student's safety.  Her classes are always a good workout and fun at the same time!  Kathy is one of the best water aerobic instructors I have ever known.

I have been taking water aerobics classes with Kathy since the day the local YMCA opened it's doors over two years ago and have never been bored nor disappointed.  Kathy is energetic, makes the workout fun and challenging, the best workout for someone with arthritis.  I travel a good bit for work and am able to take Kathy's program "on the road" since most hotels have an indoor pool and a bathing suit is easy to pack.

I attend Kathy Lane's Senior Mobility Class at the YMCA in Forsyth County, GA.  I have arthritis, and I can honestly say that after attending her classes, that I have more mobility and flexibility since last October (2007) when I began her classes.

In July, 2006, Charlie and I joined the Forsyth County YMCA.  We had heard that they were offering a Senior Mobility Water Aerobics class and we wanted to check it out.

At the time, there was no regular instructor so we had a different one for each class for about a month.  Eventually, along came Kathy Lane who had a "Program", not just some exercises.  We knew then that we were going to sign up for her class and make it a priority to be there.  And we have!  We schedule as many appointments  as possible around her classes in order not to miss.

We feel better physically and have met new friends who make this class very worthwhile.
